Before joining NAIA, we didn’t feel the need to aggregate. We already had strong carrier relationships, regularly earned profit-sharing with most of them, and we weren’t interested in giving up ownership or control of our agency or our book of business. That changed after hearing from respected colleagues who had joined NAIA and were seeing stronger performance as a result. Their experiences prompted us to take a closer look. After comparing NAIA with other options, it became clear that NAIA offered everything we wanted—and none of what we didn’t. We joined in 2014, and we’ve never looked back. Since becoming a member agency, our profit sharing has grown both higher and more consistent year after year. Sure, in some years we might have done better on our own with a particular carrier, but those shortfalls are more than offset by stronger results with others. Over time, the impact has been undeniable: steady, reliable revenue growth every year since joining NAIA. And while revenue growth is critical, it’s far from the only benefit. NAIA has provided access to professional agency consulting whenever we’ve needed it. Over the past 10 years, their team has helped us refine producer contracts, navigate three internal buyout agreements, and complete two full agency valuations. Most importantly, as of this past April, I now hold sole ownership of the agency—without the need for a loan or outside investors. That milestone would not have been possible without the expertise, guidance, and genuine care of Craig Sargent and Beth Dame. Are we glad we made the decision to join NAIA?
